The Cathedral of Learning was the tallest educational building in the world at the time of its completion. The gothic style tower serves as a central building to the University of Pittsburgh. The building was designed by Charles Klauder and completed in 1936. The Cathedral of Learning stands 535ft (163m) tall far away from the dense city's dense downtown in the Oakland neighborhood.
